Urgent dental concerns

Dental problems that shouldn't be ignored

If something hurts, feels broken, or doesn't seem right, call our Okemos office and describe what's happening. We'll talk you through the next step.

Call the office first

For a severe injury, uncontrolled bleeding, difficulty breathing or swallowing, or facial swelling that is spreading rapidly, seek emergency medical care right away.

Call (517) 349-0907

Common reasons patients call

Tooth pain or a toothache

Persistent or worsening pain deserves a look, not a wait-and-see.

Chipped or broken tooth

Save any pieces if you can and call the office for guidance.

Lost filling or crown

An exposed tooth can become sensitive quickly and may need protection.

Swelling or pressure

Swelling around a tooth or in the gums should be evaluated.

Injury to a tooth

After a fall or knock — including with children — call and describe what happened.

Something feels wrong

If you're unsure whether it's urgent, calling is the fastest way to find out.

Not sure if it's an emergency?

Call and describe what you're feeling. It's always better to ask than to wait.
